 LEVEL 2 CD-ROM
 |
While the Level 1 students will naturally progress to this program, a more
advanced student can begin with this level.
This means this student:
1) can read most short vowel words and some silent e words
2) is beginning to understand the "blending of sounds to make
words"
3) is ready to learn more vowels and combination sounds called
"partners" and is ready to blend
these sounds with other letters to
form words
4) is ready for a larger, more advanced vocabulary
The first section of Level 2 contains Review Games to test the placement into
this Level.
The "partners" in this level include: qu, sh, th, ee, ow, ay, er, ch
and ck. Level 2 includes a section called "Challenge Words". Students
learn "Basic Words" in the lesson and have the option of playing the
games with basic words and challenge words. The lessons are followed by
interactive, animated stories. A Teaching Manual and Black Line Master Tracking
Sheets are included.
Level 2 has 75 basic words, 75 challenge words and 13 animated stories. The
games section at the end continues to test skills learned.
The Challenge word sections makes Level 2 appropriate for 2nd and 3rd graders
needing to learn these basic skills. Teachers have been very creative with the
use of this level to reach more students.
